PAST TENSE

Simple past tense is a kind of tense which is used to describe an event/action that happened already in a certain time in the past.
Pattern :
(+) S + V2 + complement
(-) S + did + not + V1 + complement
(?) Did + S + V1 + complement ?

example :
(+) I went to hospital last week
( -)I did not go to hospital last week
(?) Did I go to hospital last week ?

Past continous tense is a kind of tense that is used to describe an event or an action which was happening in a certain time in the past
Pattern :
(+) S + was/were + V-ing + complement
(-) S + was/were + not + V-ing + complement
(?) was/were + S + V-ing + complement ?

Example :
(+) I was reading comic at seven O’clock last night
(-) I was not reading comic at seven O’clock last night
(?) was I reading comic at seven O’clock last night ?
